Exhibition: Ambi Presents ‘Toujours Dignes’ at Is’Art Galerie
Exhibition: Ambi Presents ‘Toujours Dignes’ at Is’Art Galerie
A.S., 1 February 2018.
The article introduces the installation of hanging nylon stockings that Ambi presents at Is’Art Galerie, as part of the group exhibition “Tiako Madagascar” (until 18 February). It offers an image of the Malagasy people’s fragility in the face of corruption, but also of their dignity and resilience, hence the title “Toujours dignes” (“Still Dignified”).
The article then traces the artist’s path, since her fine arts studies in Aix-en-Provence in 2005. It mentions her solo exhibitions (“Papiers brûlés” in 2013, “Tous égaux” in 2015) and her international group shows (“Summer Exhibition” in England in 2014, “Consult’art” in Marseille in 2015), as well as her collaboration with the artist Lova Nantenaina, “Ady gasy.”
