Soleil BLEU (Blue Sun)

October 1 – 31, 2026 · Solo Exhibition This exhibition presents about fifteen recent works by the visual artist AMBI, originally from Madagascar, in the form of a painted and drawn autobiography. Through her stays in West Africa and in the desert, her BLUE dream takes on meaning: listening to the BLUES on the dunes. AMBI has discovered the most beautiful of journeys: the inner journey of the color BLUE. “This BLUE that guides me, inspires me, protects me, and gives me energy,” says AMBI. Fire is not always destructive.

It can create as well.

Using fire as tool and material is Ambi's way of taking part in the fight against deforestation, a practice still all too common in Madagascar. The question of identity (who am I, where do I come from) holds a central place in her work, where people remain at the centre.

Antemoro paper, the bark of the avoha

Working with Antemoro plant-fibre paper from Madagascar lets the artist share a craft and keep a link with Malagasy artisans. Above all it takes part in the ecological balance of the Malagasy forest, because this paper is made from the bark of a tree called avoha, which regenerates on its own.
