The article introduces the exhibition “Rejet” (“Rejection”), shown at Galerie Vincent Bercker from 1 to 26 June 2022. It describes Ambi’s connection to the Cortésine woods, where she spends time around the old château and its discreet wildlife (badgers, wild boar, a fawn she tamed through her camera). There she has brought to life a poetic woodland “family” (Bu, Pioupiou, Bambi).

When the city of Aix-en-Provence cut a new footpath through the woods, the clearing and marking of trees disturbed this sanctuary. Sensitised since childhood to the ravages of deforestation in Madagascar, Ambi chose to respond through art rather than direct protest.

The article details the resulting multidisciplinary installation, weaving together stalking photography and mixed-technique paintings built around the wood and its elements. It describes the piece as a landscape autobiography that links the artist’s Malagasy heritage to the safeguarding of the living world.
